This series contains three projects, "If the butterfly could never talk again", "I open the door, but look into nothingness", and "Godfather". I visited the Banwan Village of Southwest China's Guizhou Province many times from 2021 to 2022. It is a rather traditional Bouyei village surrounded by ancient gazes, primitive adoration and absurd legends, which provides a place for the barbaric growth of narratives constructed by images, speeches and texts under patriarchy. The ethnic minority women there, thus, have been constrained, and subtly influenced by those narratives since childhood. I attempted to reveal those narratives through mediums such as images, fictional texts, and installations, trying to break the discourse hegemony under the traditional patriarchal system. At the same time, it is also the introspection of my own identity.
